Every organisation is having its own policy & work culture. There is a
fundamental truth in the cliché that people are organisation’s most important assets. In every
organisation human resources are a vital variable without which the dead assets are
worthless. Therefore, human resource need to be understood in their perspective & utilised
effectively to achieve the goals of an organisation. The management of human resource is a
very complicated & challenging task for those who entrusted with the successful running of
an organisation.
This research paper has been written with the objective to learn about the
training needs identification process adopted by a manufacturing firm. The methodology to
collected data for this research is from structured questionnaire filled by employees of the
concern firm. The paper will suggest training need analysis model on the basis of findings.
The effectiveness of the training largely depends upon effectiveness of
process used to identifying training needs. The training needs identification is a critical
activity for the training and development function. First and foremost, the training and
development required for the organization to achieve its objectives must be properly
identified and prioritized and thus this should be the objective of training need analysis also
in an organization. Designing a training and development program involves a sequence of
steps that can be grouped into five phases: needs assessment, instructional objectives,
design, implementation and evaluation. To be effective and efficient all training programs
must start with a needs assessment. Before any actual training occurs, the training manager
must determine who, what, when, where, why and how of training and thus this research
paper covers all details of the same.
