What is “Wedding by Cedros?”

Wedding by Cedros is a contest sponsored by the


Solana Beach merchants called the “Best of
Cedros”. The contest is for couples who are
planning to get married or renew their vows. The
complete rules including eligibility can be viewed
here and using the link on the Best of Cedros
Sweepstakes page after clicking the Like button.
The first round of the contest takes place over
three Saturdays in Solana Beach, CA starting on
May 7, 2011.

How do I enter?

Click the “Like” button on the Best of Cedros


Sweepstakes page and follow the directions.
Remember to share the contest with your friends
by clicking on the share button.

Do I have to travel to the contest site?

Yes. You must be able to travel to Solana Beach, CA for the initial round of clue solving and final rounds.

How does the contest work?

The Contest will span a period of three consecutive Saturday’s in May 2011: May 7 th, 14th and 21st of
2011. On May 7th and 14th all but the last clue will be posted to the Facebook page. On May 21 st all clues
including the last one will be posted.

You may decide to participate during one or more of these Saturdays by solving the first round of clues.
You must however travel to Solana Beach on May 21 st and be in the top 100 couples who are first to
solve the last clue. Therefore your advantage comes from solving the first round of clues then solving

the last clue on May 21st as quickly as possible. (You MUST solve the first round of clues prior to the last
clue.)

It is imperative to read the entire rules and contest overview prior to participating in the contest! This
will also give you prior knowledge of required steps for the final rounds.

Will I get a confirmation that I registered?

Yes. We will send out emails prior to the contest start


to provide reminders and to indicate that we have
received your registration. Please remember we are
not responsible for insuring your registration is valid.

Why do you need my mobile phone number for


registration?

The mobile phone number you use for registration


MUST be used during the contest. This is the only
way we can determine your qualification for a semi-
final round based on a text message you will send us
after you solve the last clue. You can upgrade your
phone after you register of course but the mobile
number must be the same. If for any reason you change your mobile number after registration please
contact us at the following email address: wedcedros@gmail.com

We will do our best to insure we have the most recent mobile number but we cannot guarantee the
change due to the work load involved for the contest.

Will I need to send and receive text messages for the contest?

Yes. Your phone must allow sending and receiving of standard SMS text messages.

Are there any other mobile phone requirements?

You must be able to take pictures during the contest with either your mobile phone or a separate
camera. You must also know how to upload your pictures to a photo sharing site. (For some people this
is easier using a dedicated point and shoot camera.) REMEMBER TO HAVE A FULLY CHARGED CELL
PHONE BATTERY ON THE DAYS YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE INTIAL ROUNDS. We are not
responsible for your mobile phone functioning correctly.

What else is required for the contest?

At the end of each contest day where you solved clues you must share a post from our Facebook wall: “I
solved clues in the Wedding by Cedros Contest”. See the contest rules for more information.

What do I need to know about Flickr, the photo sharing site?

The first round of semi-finalists will be required to upload pictures to an existing or new Flickr account at
http://www.flickr.com/. (Your qualification for this round will be a text message you will receive from
us after solving the last clue.) Here is a link to the Flickr FAQ. Here is a link to uploading photos. After
you upload your pictures to Flickr you will need to send your Flickr photostream URL (web link) to our
judges to prove you solved the location clues and to show both of you were at that location. PLEASE
LOG OUT OF Flickr AND TEST THIS LINK TO INSURE IT GOES TO YOUR PHOTOSTREAM! IF WE CAN’T
VALIDATE YOUR PICTURES YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!

To find your photostream link, log in to your Flckr account. From the pull down menu at the top left of
the page called “You” select “Your Photostream”.

Now double click on the URL in the browser or select copy to clipboard. (See below.)

Paste this URL into an email and send it to wedcedros@gmail.com along with the name and mobile
phone number you registered for the contest. (You will receive a text message if you are a semi-finalist.)
