EDUCATION OFFER FOR MARINES LEAVING ACTIVE DUTY
Texas A&M is offering guaranteed College Admission to U.S. Marines in an educational partnership for when Marines leave Active Duty via the Ma-
rine Corps' Leadership Scholar Program. This is active at all 11 universities that make up the A&M system. Marines must apply through their Com-
manding Officers who initiate a screening process. Other universities in the Leadership Scholar program are Rutgers, Colgate, Virginia Tech, Cali-
fornia State System and University of North Carolina system. The Texas A&M University System has entered into an educational partnership with
the United States Marine Corps that will provide guaranteed college admission to pre-screened and qualified Marines once they leave active duty.

RECENTERING PARENTS AND STUDENTS K-12 WORKSHOP
San Diego Unified School District is hosting a series of 3 FREE workshops for elementary, middle, and high school students and their parents in the
month of May. The program, "ReCentering Parents and Students is a course that teaches parents, students, guardians and grandparents power
tools and real time strategies for transforming students' academic and citizenship performance. You will learn exactly what it takes to create suc-

Miramar’s most important places. Tours are held the first Tuesday of every month from 9 – 10:30 a.m. and depart from the L.I.N.K.S. House (Bldg 2273).
The next tour will be held Tuesday, May 3. Children are welcome on the tour under parent’s supervision. Light refreshments and a meet ‘n greet will

MCCS, Lifeskills offers a CPR Saves Lives class. Now you can too! Learn basic techniques with CPR for Friends & Family. This class is held monthly (The
last Wednesday of every month) and the next class will be on Wednesday, May 25 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Building 7224, Training Room (Miramar Fire

This class is given by Ms. Enrica Malone & Ms. Sherry Gelle, the facilitators of the Deployment Support Groups for children. This is an interactive class
for the grown-ups to attend where we will share the who, what, where, and why of what we do. We give examples and welcome questions. Come play
with us while getting the inside scoop of why play is important for your child and the well-being of your family.
We'll have games, friends, arts, crafts and lots of fun!

Be a volunteer! We are looking for motivated individuals or groups to volunteer a the race start downtown at the Hilton Bayfront, Chicano Park Water
station, the finish line in Coronado's Tidelands Park and Pre-Race registration events and race set up. To thank you for your hard work, all volunteers

Youth Center Tutors Needed! We would like to invite all interested Marines (as well as spouses and DOD civilians) to please consider becoming a tu-
tor for military students who attend our very own MCAS Miramar Child, Youth, and Teen Center. Students in grades K-12 are in need of one-on-one tu-
tors in all academic areas. What we are looking for are Marines who will be able to commit at least 1-2 hours one day a week. The available start times
are 1430-1700, Monday through Friday. Your availability will be matched with the current needs of the center to develop a schedule that is mutually
beneficial. More detailed information regarding specific participation requirements and professional acknowledgement will be provided to you upon
your initial contact with the Youth Center POC.
