Poets and lyrists often use similar devices to convey their messages. They share common

devices which include rhyming, synecdoche, personification and imagery. 50 Cent uses synecdoche in his

song, “Okay, You’re Right”. He says Please don't interrupt me when I'm talkin to my jeweler

He's puttin them diamonds all over my Franck Muller; As you can see, he replaces the word watch with

Frank Muller. Lyrists also tend to make their lyrics rhyme as much as possible and still try to get their

point across. Millay shows the readers in “Afternoon on a Hill” the rhyming scheme in the poem; I will

be the gladdest thing    Under the sun! I will touch a hundred flowers    And not pick one. Lyrists

and poets both release creative energy through their songs by their messages in the poem/song. Lyrist

and poets both make you visualize what the message they are singing or rhyming to. Poets and lyrists

also make you think about their message that they put in their poem/song. Has any poet/lyrist ever

made you visualize their message, and use any of those poetic devices in their poem/ song?
