- occasionally arises in the maxilla or the mandible
Age
- 2nd decade
- 90% of lesions presenting before the age of 50 years
Gender
- male (2:1 ratio)
Clinical features

1. lesions less than 1.5 cm

2. arising in either medullary or periosteal sites

3. bony cortices may be expanded and tender to


palpation

4. severe pain

5. localized swelling
Radiographic features

1. well circumscribed and have a mixed


lucent-opaque pattern
2. thin radiolucency may be noted surrounding a variably
calcified central tumor mass
3. peripheral sun ray pattern of new bone production may
mimic osteosarcoma
