– Jesus’ first call, “Come, follow Me”

– Jesus’ next call, “Come higher!”

 Life on a higher plane:
• You enter the Kingdom of Heaven the
moment you become born again
 Life on a higher plane:

• The Kingdom of Heaven is life under the

leadership of Jesus Christ
 Life on a higher plane:
• You enter the Kingdom of Heaven the

• The Kingdom of Heaven is life under the

• The Kingdom of Heaven is life in the

King’s dominion
A life that is truly enviable:
 Three Calls from Jesus:

radical obedience!

– Jesus wants to sit in the seat of

authority

– Jesus wants you to become His disciple

“You have heard it said . . . but I say”

“Not everyone who says to me “Lord, Lor

d” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but
only he who does the will of My Father”

“Everyone who hears these words of mine

and puts them into practice will become
like a wise man who builds his house on
the rock.”
 Three Calls from Jesus:
1. Jesus is calling you higher!

radical obedience!

3. Jesus is calling you to draw near

to Him!

– Two kinds of followers—

• “the crowd”
• “His disciples”
His presence is the key to life on
a higher plane!
• Jesus is the embodiment of the righteous
requirements of the Scriptures

• Jesus gives living words of guidance for

every situation you encounter in life

“You have heard it said . . . but I say”

A life that is truly enviable!
