    CHARLOTTE: She is Richard sister. She accepted her stepfather more easily than her brother did (21).

    She also
    loved her brother, to prove it she willing to married Charles Devere even though she do not love him. The only
    reason is because he was wealthy and promised to search for her brother. In the end she died of fever at childbirth
    (28).

    LUCY: A house maid. She was a soft-hearted person who felt sorry for Richard and was kind to him (15). She also
    afraid of ghost and was easily frightened (26).

    DIGBY: A gardener. He was friendly and kind to Richard. He also thought him how to whittle wooden animals (20).
    He was hopeful that Richard would return. This we can see from his action on pg 23 second last paragraph.
