I was pleased to learn of your advertisement for a summer internship position within the
patient admissions department of Sunbury Health Services Corporation. An internship
with this agency is an ideal opportunity for me to further enhance my strong
communication and interpersonal skills. I am particularly interested in an internship with
Sunbury Health Services Corporation because of its strong tradition of providing
excellent patient care in the Central Susquehanna Valley.

During the past three summers, I have volunteered at Saint Peters Village, a 180 bed long
term care facility. Through my observations of the Saint Peters Health Care staff, I have
gained knowledge of Federal, State, and Joint Commissions regulations associated with
nursing facilities and personal care homes. Exposure to this work environment has also
led me to further develop my organizational skills and attention to detail. As an evening
volunteer with the Homeless Help program at Saint Peters Village, I have gained
experience working with individuals of varying ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.

My volunteer experience at Saint Peters Village has been valuable, however an

opportunity to work with your highly skilled professionals would supplement my
