Through my internship with the firm Hop, Skip and Jump, I had the opportunity to work for Mr.
Thomas Kraft, a litigator. While working with Mr. Kraft, I reviewed cases involving
environmental law, contracts, constitutional law, libel, personal injury, and products liability. I
worked on all allowable aspects of Mr. Kraft’s cases, writing briefs, researching the law and
interviewing clients. My progression of increasingly responsible assignments reflects my
preparedness for the Consultant Specialist position.
My experience as the president of the Pre-Law Society at Susquehanna University has enabled
me to practice and strengthen my ability to persuade others. To present the best argument
possible, I have conducted extensive research on several environmental issues including acid
rain. Winning more than twenty law simulations in one semester demonstrates my ability to
successfully research, evaluate and plead cases.
As a Consultant Specialist, I would use my knowledge of the political system to improve the
natural environment. Through my coursework, I have gained a thorough understanding of
affective policy making and legislation. My participation in Pre-Law Society, Division III
athletics, and Environment Science Club demonstrates my exceptional time-management skills
in addition to my commitment to the law and the environment. I possess exceptional writing
skills which will be further enhanced by my participation in a Public Policy course next
semester.
