• Numerex delivers a range of ruggedized devices, hybrid satellite and cellular ne
twork coverage, as well as complex applications for emergency monitoring and ass et recovery. • They collaborate with other monitoring/control device manufacturers to enable cu stomers to gauge any number of metrics and situations, and route that informatio n to their mainframe to interpret and act on accordingly. • They have been public since 1994. Security • Numerex’s devices and network offer users the ability to monitor and relay the dat a of home security systems, pressure gauges, container breach, vessel breach, an d a multitude of other systems. Case study • They supply consulting, hardware, wireless network and customer service to GE Se curity and their real estate clients using ActiveKey, so that listing agents can know when and who showed that property, in real time. • ActiveKEY has garnered significant early acceptance since its launch in August 2 007 and is now being used by more than 233,000 real estate agents in more than 3 0 markets nationwide. • 750,000 electronic lockboxes are planned to be replaced with the deployment of A ctiveKEY. Transportation • Numerex’s offerings create the capabilities for end-to-end tracking of the supply chain. Shipping container, truck locations and individual package locations can be monitored, giving companies the ability to ensure the location, delivery, an d total content package from their trucks. • Other uses include monitoring temperature gauge sensors and speed controls. • Offerings for the transportation market encompass intermodal shipping, fleet/fue l management, railway monitoring, long-haul/short-haul fleet monitoring, and 3PL tracking. Aside from the security market, this industry contains one of the ear liest M2M adopters. Case Study • A wireless load sensor, door alarms and inventory control tags are several optio ns available to companies via the TrackPoint solution. These sensors and alarms eliminate issues that companies reported as they detect break-ins, loading or un loading and inventory tracking. Utilities • A host of wide area monitoring situations, such as pipeline temperature sensors, pressure measuring points, flow monitoring, discrete level monitoring, and puls e generating sensors. Numerex’s offerings are effective components of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), which is a critical and fundamental enabler of t he Smart Grid. Case Study • ETwater is working with a facility in Northern California that has deployed 323 commercial controllers. These controllers now water 2,600 acres of landscaping, one of the largest sites monitored by smart controllers. In the past, the custom er would have to adjust each controller manually – at upwards of twenty minutes pe r controller -- adding up to a considerable waste of labor hours. Working with E Twater’s Web based system, the Global Changes feature enables them to change setti ngs on all 323 controllers simultaneously with a few keystrokes from any PC. Healthcare • Data monitoring for sick patients who use measurement devices and/or continuous- flow devices like oxygen tanks, that need frequent and/or constant monitoring. o This segment has only just started to be explored. Government • Government contracts require a partner that offers flexible billing and back end products and services. Numerex enables its government customers by offering cos t-effective rental or purchase options for asset tracking and recovery systems. Case Study • In early 2009, Numerex provided approximately 100 SX1 asset tracking devices to USTRANSCOM as part of military exercies in North America and Africa to provide i n-transit visibility of selectively tagged assets. The SX1 enabled NORTHCOM and AFRICOM operational units to continually track their assets throughout their fi eld exercies. This satellite tracking provided both NORTHCOM and AFRICOM with or igin-to-destination visibility to track their assets.
