What role does "sound doctrine" (sound teaching if you will) play or have to
do with "sound practice" (sound living)? Sound doctrine has everything to do
with sound living. If you don’t full understand the scriptures that could cause
you to live ignorantly. Example some people feel that you can live lawless
and still reap the benefit of heaven. Paul addressed it perfectly “What shall
we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!
How shall we who died in sin live any longer in it?” Romans 6:1-2

To get "going" on this...you might want to look over the "pastoral" epistles (1-2Tim.
and Titus) and/or note the structure of epistles such as Eph.Gal., Rom. etc.

2. Remember this is NOT mandatory. It is the 2nd of 3-4 opps. I hope to give
you for going a bit "above and beyond." How does or how should what we
believe affect how we live or practice our faith? Please cite scripture. Base
your interaction off of the authority of God's word first. Share experiences as
they relate (or perhaps don't relate) to Biblical truth.

3. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not
need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and
idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness”. This verse says it
all. We are to study the bible, be able to defend the faith, correctly interpret
and apply the scriptures to our lives. “Train up a child in the way he should
go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. This here is
a good example of how your interpretation of the Bible will effect the way you
live your life. Parents are instructed to raise a child up in the ways of the
Lord, so that when their world falls apart and they are away from the Lord
that they run back to it. If you are constantly committing adultery you can
only hide it for so long before it naturally is manifested. “These were more
fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all
readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things
were so”. Acts 17:11. All things hid in the dark will be brought to light
voluntarily or involuntarily. “Confess your trespasses to one another, and
pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a
righteous man avails much” James 5:16. Truly we need to set scripture as our
foundation.
