    SECONDARY SCHOOL EXAMINATION (MARKING PATTERN)

    SENIOR SECONDRY SCHOOL EXAMINATION (MARKING PATTERN)

    The exam is taken on five subjects each having maximum marks 100. They give total maximum marks of
    500.
    Overall total above 300 is considered as first class i.e. above average.

    Unlike any other examination body in India it tests students on a very long syllabus. Total syllabus
    constitute of topics taught in two academic years. Students of NIOS board are supposed to study just
    double than students in other board like CBSE or ICSE.
