1.Anchor bends
Anchor bend is placed 3 mm mesial to the molar
tube, in such a way that there is gingival
displacement of the anterior part of the arch wire
therefore when the arch wire is placed in the bracket,
there is a intrusive force acting on the anterior
segment.
2.Gable bend
This is a modified bite opening bend given in the
arch wire distal to the canine. This tends to cause
extrusion of the canines and the intrusion of the
central and laterals
