I believe an excellent teacher has to be passionate about education, the future of the

children and society, and above all else, has to be a person of integrity.

A leader needs management skills, but sees beyond the physical plant and
mandated requirements to achieve the big picture in education – developing a life-
long love of education in his/her students, parents and teachers.

In educational leader is a good listener and listens more than they speak. A leader
can demonstrate this by giving followers the opportunity to voice their ideas.
Followers need to feel that their leader is approachable and willing to listen. One
way that a leader can appear approachable is by keeping their door open and
encouraging communication. Followers are more likely to care about their leaders
when they feel included and their ideas have been heard (Hollander).
