Figurative Language Worksheet

Whenever you describe something by using unusual or different words.


Please write a sentence using the following nonliteral language in it. The first ten
are similes (comparing one thing with another thing of a different kind, i.e., as brave
as a lion), the next ten are metaphors (a word is used to describe something it
doesn’t normally describe, i.e., drowning in money), and the last ten are idioms (an
expression that cannot be explained by just reading the words, i.e., a piece of cake).
