It was founded by war sculptor Marie Tussaud
Tussaud created her first figure of Voltaire in 1777
By 1835 Marie had settled down in Baker street,
London
The current location is on Marylebone road, that
opened in 14 july 1884

became embroiled in controversy when Paul Carrel a
41 year old german man brushed past two guards and
decapited wax figure Adolf Hitler
