Brainwriting or Silent Brainstorming

Make up enough sheets so that there will be one for everyone in the
group, plus a few extras.
Identify the problem statement for which you're seeking varied and
novel options.

1. Take a blank brainwriting sheet, and write three ideas for dealing
with the problem. Enter them in boxes 1, 2 & 3 (one idea per box)

2. Put your sheet, in the middle of the group, and take out another
sheet (a blank one if you are the first to finish: otherwise, a sheet from
another group member)

3. Add three more new ideas to the sheet, and then repeat steps 1-2.

4. Always take a new sheet not the one you have written on.

5. Read the ideas on the sheet and use them to make new
connections.

6. Continue until all the sheets have been filled with ideas!
