Sang pemimpi is the second book of Andrea Hirata. This book also
include in the tetralogy of Laskar Pelangi. Unlike Laskar Pelangi, where Andrea
wrote about Ikal͛s childhood adventures with his friends from school, this book
tells more about his experience with Arai, a relative-become-brother. When
you read it, through the pages of the book, you will brought to their
environment.

It starts with the story of how they escaped from the strictest teacher in
their school, Pak Mustar, who was very rigid in maintaining the school͛s
dicipline, very much disapprove of their act. So, he approached Arai and Ikal at
the school gate. In fact, Ikal and Arai just wanted to attract attention of the
girls gathering in the school yard. Unfortunately, Pak Must ar thought that they
were making a fool of him, so he got angry. Ikal and Arai sense that there
would be a ͚disaster͛ coming their way if they stayed around. They did was the
best at that time. They thought Pak Mustar wouldn͛t chase them they never
been so wrong. No matter where they were, Pak Mustar was hot on their
heels. They ran to the market not far from school. Pak Mustar was there too.
Finally they found a perfect hiding place to get away from Pak Mustar. It was in
fish-cooling box. They made tjeir a ppearence right in the middle of the market
an shocked people there.

There are many other stories about their juvenil delinquencies, about
how they set their minds on making their parentsproud of them, about how
they dared to dream of seeing many parts of the world as possible, and so on.
Towards they end of the book, they also learnt about life, then they would get
͚͛punished͛͛ for they had done in the past.

Just like Andrea Hirata͛s other books, you will laugh as well as learn
about life, about how to know yourself. So enjoy it.
