Chapter 14

Protect our trees

Dear Woodcutters

Please don’t cut trees.

They are very useful. Cut only dead trees. To find them, you go near leaves. If air
is coming through leaves, they are alive. If not they are dead.

Trees provide us medicines, fruits, vegetables, wood, dress etc. They give shelter
to wild animals and block their way to villages, town or city.

Long time ago, there were so many trees. They gave

00000000000000000000000000000% of oxygen. Humans are cutting trees. Today
there is only 200000000% o of Oxygen because humans are cutting trees.

So don’t cut trees. One day in Ooty there were so many trees but all wood cutters
cut 10000 of trees. So a land slide happened there. So many people died. So don’t
cut trees.

Listen carefully. Save trees, plant trees and stop deforestation. Deforestation
means cutting down trees. Start afforestation. Afforestation means planting of
trees. Build wildlife sanctuary, WWF, forests and national parks.

This is for Governor.

Dear Governor

Please don’t allow people to cut trees. Build national parks in villages, towns and
cities.

So in Chennai, people cut so many trees and on 26 December 2006, tsunami came
and killed all the people in the beach. It killed 1000 christian people.

Now listen to the story carefully.

Once in Korea, two Korean woodcutters, Wang Chi and Chivanging lived.
Chivanging was clever and he cut only dead trees. But Wang Chi was cruel and he
cut all alive and dead trees. So Wang Chi became rich.
But Chivangingwas still poor. One day Chivanging went to forest to cut trees on a
cold morning and he saw a tree half-cut. He thought “ Oh no! it much be shivering
with cold”. So he removed his shirt and tied it on the half cut tree. The tree was
very thankful to Chivanging. So it gave him a bag full of gold coins and rupees. He
took it and ran home happily. He became very rich.

But Wang Chi went to the same tree, untied the shirt and cut it very big and tied
his shirt. But the tree took him as prisoner because he cut and injured it badly.
Then some monks came and rescued him. He learnt a leasson.

Moral - Always cut dead trees. Don’t cut alive trees.
