SERENDIPITY

At first sight, she was no great shakes to look at. I got just one glance of her and what I saw was
a gal that leaves an impression on your mind.

She was tall and slim, and the innocence of her face was enough to swipe you off your feet. She
was as fair as the newly laden snow and what got me bowled-over was that smile! It was
uninhibited, spontaneous, and radiated a glow that literally blinded the eyeballs.

Even through the blindness she was visible, fairy-like, with a cool serenity about her, oblivious
of the treacherous world around us.

She was smiling, laughing, her silvery locks dancing merrily, as if they were just made for that
purpose. Her hair was straight, long; and framed her face, and was like one of those things that
you would want to touch and feel, again and again; like a baby’s soft skin, or cool water flowing
in a stream on a hot day.

She was simply dressed, nothing elaborate, but something that suited her well, something that
accentuated her features.

She turned around, and our eyes met for that tiniest fraction of a second, a time I am beginning
to doubt that it existed even. I could just ascertain a flicker of recognition on her face; or was I
imagining it? She turned around again and went back to her friends, continuing that innocent,
Mohd Ali-punch-like smile.
