Dear Year 7 Teacher,

My name is Vanessa Jentana Hemmingsen. It’s really funny because my middle name is my
mom’s name. My mom said my nickname is Sa but I’d prefer Vanessa. My nationality is half
Thai and half New Zealand. The first time I came to NIST they put me in year EY1 so I have been
here for 8 years already.

At home I stay with my mom, dad and my adopted sister Aum. I have a dog and a rabbit as well.
I also have two half brothers in New Zealand. This summer I am going to Europe with my friend
Jamie for the first time! I am also going all around America and Canada.
The thing I really like about my family is they always encourage me in
what I want to do.

My year 6 teacher was Ms. Denise Hazen and she would describe me as a
hard worker, smart, caring and responsible. My favorite part of Year 6
was the Kanchanaburi trip because I got to learn new things. My
exhibition topic was orphans and to stop teen pregnancy. The thing I did
in Year 6 to prepare for Year 7 was to get more organized in time.

My favorite subject is Music because I get to sing and I LOVE to sing. I

think my strengths are Language because I think I am good at making
stories. I think the thing I need to improve on is Math, but I am
improving. The best way my teacher can help me is to teach me in the simplest way and then I
can remember.

Activities and sports I enjoy the most are singing and gymnastics. The genre I like to read the
most is mysterious books because I don’t know what’s going to happen next. I am really
interested in learning about Science and Food tec.

The thing I like best about my friends is that they seem like family so I can tell them anything
and they help me in problems. I hope in Year 7 we stay friends and we don’t separate or have
big fights. I will try to be a good friend by staying truthful.

The thing I am most excited about is to learn new subjects. The thing I am nervous about is that
I will not succeed in the tests. I think I will need help with adjusting because this is the only year
that 4 of my friends are leaving.
