ARC Centre for Excellence for Geotechnical Science and Engineering

Vacation Scholarship applications now open!


Scholars will have the opportunity to work for 8 to 10 weeks, during the summer
break (2011-2012), on research projects with COFS researchers and PhD students.
This opportunity is aimed at those undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year in
Civil Engineering with a good academic record who wish to explore the possibility of
further study after finishing their degree.

Areas currently being investigated include:


 Ca sso & sskirted
Caisson ted foundations
ou dat o s  Soil characterisation studies
 Anchor systems  Structure-soil interaction and reliability
 Pipeline systems  Behaviour of jack-up units
 CPT to spudcan design

The scholarship provides $800 per week tax t f


free plus an economy return
airfare to Perth from a capital city within Australia.
Candidates should include in their applications:
 a brief CV
 copy of academic transcript and
 the names of two academic referees
