OBJECTIVE

To expose the students to the concepts of statistical application as well as the calculation skills of
descriptive statistics and basic inferential statistics, necessary for applications in their future working
environment. This also equips them with statistical tools to do their year three independent projects.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the module, student should be able to:

• Be familiar with some of the statistical concepts, theories and tools, and their uses;
• Understand the fundamentals of the statistical methodologies, findings and inferences drawn from
research studies;
• Be equipped with the foundation of statistics to pursue research modules at a higher level.
