Introduction
VSAT stands for Very Small Aperture Terminal Its basically a two way satellite ground station with less than 3mtr. tall(most of them are 0.75m 1.2m tall) dish antenna. Frequency band : Ku band
u/l: 14.0- 14.5 ghz d/l: 10.95-11.2 ghz

Primary job is accessing the satellites in the geosynchronous orbit (35,786km)and relaying data from terminals in earth to other terminals and hubs.

Why VSAT n/w?


Quick Installation A satellite network can be installed in a matter of weeks, since there are not countless miles of wire to be installed

Geography

Versatile satellite networks provide the capability to span rain forest, deserts and mountainous terrain, or connecting remote island locations.

Bandwidth Advantage

Satellite networks offer bandwidth advantages that provide a bigger Pipe for transmitting Video, Voice and Data.

The term e-learning covers a wide set of applications and processes including computer based learning, Web based learning, Virtual Classroom and digital collaboration .

Access to educational resources from outside the institution on a global and instant basis. Oppurtunities for international, cross-culture and collaborative learning. Ability to serve a large number of students at a potentially reduced cost.

News: In the present context timely and updated news sources are not available for example live telecast, weather reporting etc. web news portals can be very handy for the flow of news. Tele -centre are established with a view of providing Communication Technology to the people of urban and rural areas. Its main objective is to provide computer, Internet, and email technology facilities to the people of under-privileged society.
