OPEN ACCESS CHARGES EFFECTIVE FROM 01.04.2010 In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 39,40 and 42 of the Electricity Act, 2003 read with the provisions of Chapter II (Charges for Open Access) of OERC (Determination of Open Access Charges) Regulations, 2006, the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission has passed an order on 24.06.2010 in Case Nos.24,25,26 & 27 of 2010 with regard to approval of Open Access Charges (Transmission/wheeling Charges, Surcharge and Additional Surcharge applicable to open access customers for use of Intra-state transmission/ distribution system ) effective from 01.04.2010.

For the information of the General Public and interested persons, the Commission hereby publishes the surcharges as would be applicable for all classes of consumers at HT & EHT. The said order is also available in the Commissions website www.orierc.org Surcharge for FY 2010-11 for HT Consumers (Vide Table-11 of the order dtd.24.06.2010)

A linear approach for determining the exact rate in steps of 1% between 20 to 30 or 30 to 40 etc. can be worked out. For Load Factor below 20%, the surcharge at 20% shall apply. The surcharge shall be indicated in each monthly bill raised by the embedded licensee.

Additional Surcharge: No additional surcharge over and above the billing charge needs to be given to the embedded licensee.
