What do you mean by C?

Latin word- celeritas, celerity (uncommon english) means speed. In 19th century V proposed by maxwell. Einstein also used V in his first research paper. First time Weber Constant c in 1856. Later on, plank, lorentz use c in their research papers. In 1907 Einstein switch from V to c and it become a standard. RoemerIo

c = (d1 - d2)/(t1 - t2) Roemer determined that c = 2.1 x 108 m/s.

Michelson Michelson calculate speed of light equal to 299,792 Km/sec. Won nobel Prize in 1907.

Rigved Speed of light calculated by Sayana (13151387 A.D.) was a very famous Vedic scholar. Sayana comments: "It is remembered that Sun traverses 2,202 yojanas(length) in half a nimesa(time). Thus 2,202 yojanas in half a nimesa is equal to 185,794 miles per second after conversion. This is very close to the value of 186,000 miles per second for the speed of light.
