Abstract: The objective of this poster is to describe the simulation of Matrix converter operation using SABER simulation package. There are a number of
different modulation methods available to produce the command signals for the bidirectional switches, such as Venturini, space vector and scalar methods. In this poster the simulation of the operation of matrix converter is presented using modified Venturini modulation method and with the changing of the switching sequence according to the input voltage space vector position, and this method called cyclic Venturini.

Matrix Converter Model:

Using the modified Venturini method the voltage transfer ratio is increased to 86%. The simulation model of Matrix converter is shown using SABER simulation software. The matrix converter mathematical model described as a function of the duty cycle mij : is

Conclusion: The operation of the matrix converter was presented using different voltage transfer ratio. A mathematical model of the matrix converter is used in order to simulate its operation, using cyclic Venturini modulation technique. The next step is to design a controller that is capable to keep the converter output stable against any input voltage disturbance and output voltage variation.
