Story Date: September 28th, 2010 Location: Oaxaca, Mexico Description: Tropical Storm Matthew caused massive amounts

of flooding in much of Oaxaca, Mexico;which has lead to the collapse of a major hillside in Southern Mexico from severe rains. Over one hundred local residents are missing and at least seven are confirmed dead.

Lithosphere The Mexican mudslide would have eroded the cover of soil and damaged many of its layers.

Hydrosphere Debris from the homes and objects built on the hillside will pollute the waters below with dirt and transporting materials, which will increase the amount of silt in the waters. By increasing the amount of silt, this can cause harm to much of the flora and fauna in the area.

Atmosphere Many trees and plants were removed and swept into the below waters, which causes a major decrease in the formation of oxygen.

Biosphere Over 9,000 residents were forced to evacuate the area, but they were not the only ones affected. Plant life, treed areas, shelter and animals have all been forced out of their habitats by the Mexican mudslide. Flora and fauna has been destructed in much of this area.
