Jessica works with the Students Association (SA) at the MacEwan Centre for the Arts and Communications campus as our Promotions Assistant. The mandate of our office is to offer services to students and to create a sense of community on campus with a roster of events and campaigns. Within Jessicas role, she is responsible for promoting events and covering the office. The basic requirements of the position would be to put up posters for upcoming events, but within her time with the SA, Jessica quickly became the conduit to the student body. Each time an event was set to transpire, Jessica would ask for the details of the event concept, carefully ensure she could describe it in her own words and then set out to translate it to the student body. From her word of mouth promotion to her visually astounding messaging on campus whiteboards and sidewalks, her thoughtfulness in this process, and genuine excitement for the events, always created a buzz on campus. Jessica also quickly took an active role in the planning of the events. She is a wealth of event ideas, slogans, themes, poster concepts and always has an overall vision for what she is after. She is a master of initiating movement on campus and this ability has been essential to the success of our year.
