Pastor Kevin Harbin & Family Pastor Kevin Harbin is new to Swartz Creek UMC as of July 1, 2011. However, he is not new to ministry. Since 1997 he has served United Methodist Churches in a variety of places, after working in the business industry for ten years. Pastor Kevin brings a passion to Swartz Creek UMC for developing a balanced life for all followers of Jesus Christ. This includes intentional decisions to attend worship regularly, growing faith through various discipleship opportunities, and serving inside & outside the church. This balanced approach lives out the United Methodist denomination mission statement of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World. Kevin and Ellen have been married for 23 years and have 6 children. Christine, 21, attends Indiana Wesleyan University; Andrew, 20, is currently in boot camp preparing to become a U.S. Marine; Eric, 18, will be attending Albion College; Troy, 16, will be a junior in high school, Jaylen, 7, will be in the 2nd grade; Sukanya, 6, will be in the 1st grade. Jaylen & Sukanya were adopted inlate 2010. Eight is now enough and the Harbin family is thankful to God for arranging us together as a Forever Family.

The UMM will be holding a special meeting on July 17th at 9:45am in Murbach Hall. Peter Wolfgram will be making a 10-15 minute presentation on his plans for ministry in Campus Crusade for Christ. We encourage all men of the church to attend and consider what part we can play in this opportunity. Peter and his family have been long standing members of our church and when we learn of one of our members dedicating their life to a meaningful ministry such as this, we need to provide them with all the support we can through gifts and prayers. Please plan to attend this brief meeting. Thank you in advance! If you would like to participate in a day of fun at the church pavilion and baseball diamond sign up at the welcome center. Anyone 10 and older can play . Choose the time you would prefer to play. Sign up as a twosome or foursome. As many as eight can play at the same time but on different courts. Times start at 10:00 and go until 2:00 pm. No experience needed. All equipment provided. I would like to thank my church family for all the visits to the hospital and homeespecially the prayers & cards.
