Who Was Queen Victoria?

Queen Victoria was born May 24, 1819 in London, England. She became Queen on June 20, 1837 at the age of 18. She was Queen during a time of British industrial progress and artistic success that is now referred to as the Victorian era. She reigned for 64 years, until her death on January 22, 1901, making her the longest reigning monarch to date.

Who Is Queen Elizabeth II?


Queen Elizabeth II is the current monarch of the Commonwealth realms, a group of sixteen countries including the United Kingdom and Canada. She was born on April 21, 1926 and became Queen on February 6, 1952 at the age of 25. She has reigned for 59 years, making her the second longest reigning monarch to date. In 2012, we will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee to mark her 60th year as monarch.
