Sun Agrigenetics P Ltd is a pioneer agro-biotech company of Gujarat. Since its inception in year 2000, the company has developed an innovative range of tissue culture crops like banana (five varieties Grand Naine, Robusta, Williams, Sona and salt resistant banana), Sugarcane (CO 671, 86032, 86002), minitubers of potato (Kufri Badshah, K, Laukar, Pokhraj, Chipsona and Lady Rosento), cucurbitaceous vegetables like Coccinea and Trichosanthes, fruit crops like Kagdi Lime and Anjeer, Forest Trees like Eucalyptus, Teak and Red Sanders, ornamentals like Gerbera, Cordyline, Ficus Benjamina etc. The farmers who use our tissue culture plants and our Speedy Dharu of hybrid vegetables like chilly, capsicum, tomato, watermelon, papaya etc have obtained ample harvest. Now the company is offering a novel fruit crop called Date Palm that is well suited to semiarid and arid climate of North Gujarat, Kutchh, Rajasthan, part of Maharashtra, Hariyana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. 1. Crop: Tissue culture Date Palm. For detail description of individual variety please
refer the chart given herewith.

2. Soil: Well-drained soil even saline soil is also suited to Date Palm. It does not prefer
black cotton soil.

3. Climate: It prefers dry long summer with semi arid to arid climate. 4. Irrigation: It can be irrigated with saline water of TDS up to 5000ppm. 5. Yield and duration: The crop has a long life of up to 75 years giving an average fresh
fruit quantity of 150kg per plant every year.
