Fall 2003 CE 421/521 Analysis of Framed Structures (4)

Catalog Data:

Generalized analysis of multi-story and irregular structural framework with classical methods; analysis of arches, curved beams and frames with non-prismatic members. Energy methods with introduction to matrix methods. Prerequisite: CEE 325 No textbook Hibbeler, R.C., Structural Analysis, 4th. ed., Prentice Hall, 1995. James K. Nelson and Jack C. McCormac, Structural Analysis: Using Classical and Matrix Methods, 3rd. ed., John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2003. Solidify and expand indeterminate structural analysis with intent of leading to advanced techniques utilizing matrix methods and finite element analysis of structural systems. Utilize computers as an analytical tool for expanding the utility of classical methods for complex structural systems.
