Use "Word Wrap" to view this file. --------------------------------------------------------------------------Introduction This is a collection of brightly colored animated cursors for Windows 95/98/ME o r NT/2000. They are all based on a common theme of being a neon tube formed in t he shape the cursor. There are ten cursor schemes in the set, consisting of five different colors (blue, green, purple, red and yellow) and two different backgr ounds (clear and black). The different backgrounds provide contrast with both li ght and dark colored desktops. They replace all the standard Windows mouse point ers with animated ones, with many optional versions to choose from. It will also replace the "link" cursor whenever you use the "single click" setting for "fold er options" in newer versions of Windows. These cursors will work with all Windo ws color video setups (256K and up). These cursors lend some variety to the desk top and compliment the many themes available for Windows 95/98/ME. For installat ion see the "Instructions" below. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------Version History Version 1.0 (2/24/99) -- Initial issue of 315 color coordinated Neon Animated C ursors. If you have a non-standard installation you can copy the cursors to you r cursor folder after unzipping them and install them from Control Panel individ ually. If you are not familiar with the terms used in these directions, get help from someone who is to do this installation. Installation 1. Unzip the NeonCrsr.zip file into a temporary folder using an unzip utility su

ch as WinZip. It is preferable to keep the default folder of "\Temp\Neon", other wise type in the folder used when prompted during installation for the "download ed files". In Windows Explorer, go to the temporary folder you just made and rig ht click on "INSTALLN.INF". Select (double click) "Install". You should see a me ssage that the cursor files are being copied to your computer. 2. In Control Panel, double click on "Mouse" for Mouse Properties. Click on "Poi nters" in Mouse Properties. 3. Ten cursor schemes are provided with this set. Under "Scheme", click on the a rrow for the drop down menu and double click on the desired color (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green or Purple) and background (Clear or Black) of the "Neon Animated" en tries. You should now see the appropriate Neon Animated Cursor for each default mouse pointer. 4. To keep the set shown, just click on "Apply" and go to step 5. To change any of the cursors, select that cursor and click on "Browse", double click on the "N EON" folder, then select the new cursor desired from those listed. Highlight the desired cursor and click "Open." You should now see the new cursor shown for th at event. Continue this until you have all the cursors the way you want. At this time you may want to save this as a custom scheme. Type in a scheme name and cl ick on "Save As". To initiate the new cursors, click on "Apply". 5. Exit Mouse Properties and Control Panel. Delete your temporary folder. You're done! Note: The "application in background" cursors have "APPS" in their name and the "busy" cursors have "BUSY" in their name. All "application in background" curso rs can also be used as the normal cursor. Cursors ending in "L" are larger curso rs designed for laptop computers or large monitors. Cursors with "LINK" are able to be used as the browser cursor for IE4/5 if you have Windows 98. The "BUSY8" cursors are 60 second timers and can be used to measure waiting time for your ap plications. The clear background cursors all have "C" as the third letter in the file name. The black background cursors all have "B" as the third letter in the file name. Most of the "busy" cursors are designed to be used with either set. While I made these as matching color sets, you can mix the colors and background s of the cursors into whatever custom set you want, as described in Step 4. To uninstall: 1. Select new cursors that are not in the "\Cursors\NEON" directory for your def ault cursors using Steps 2-5 under Installation. When done, go to Add/Remove Pro grams in Control Panel, select "Neon Animated Cursors", and select "Add/Remove". This removes all the cursors and registry entries that were installed. 2. In Windows Explorer, delete empty folder "\Cursors\NEON" in your default wind ows folder. Do NOT delete your "\Cursors" folder!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------License These files are copyrighted and being released as freeware for personal, non-pro fit use only. The 3D Maroon Animated Cursors contain sports related cursors not carried in the other sets, but which can be used with any of them. The original animations for the "standard" cursors used in the first 3D Green An imated Cursor set I made were modeled after a freeware blue 3D animated and stat ic cursor set developed by Chris Prescott. I wish to thank him for permission to use his ideas. His cursor set is available at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconV alley/Park/4467. For the cursor with the stylized Windows flag, the copyright for the original Wi ndows flag belongs to Microsoft. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------Neon Animated Cursor Scheme "ZIP" File List for Version 1.0d

Note to conserve room, I am not listing all 318 files in this zip file individua lly. The "*" for the second letter represents the five possible color variations "r", "y", "g", "b", or "p", representing the colors red, yellow, green, blue, o r purple. For each of these colors there can be two background versions as denot ed by the "#" in the third letter, where "b" or "c" are used denoting black back ground or clear background. If there is no "#" in the third position, it should be usable with either background color and there is only one version of that cur sor for each color. file_id.diz INSTALLN.INF n*#alt.ani n*#apps1.ani n*#apps2.ani n*#apps3.ani n*#apps4.ani n*#apps5.ani n*#apps6.ani n*#apps7.ani n*#apps8.ani n*#apps9.ani n*#arrol.cur n*#arrow.cur n*#beam.cur n*#busy6.ani n*#cross.cur n*#diagl.ani n*#diagr.ani n*#help.ani n*#horz.ani n*#link.cur n*#link2.ani n*#move.ani n*#no.ani n*#no2.ani n*#pen.ani n*#pen2.ani n*#vert.ani n*arrow.ani n*busy1.ani n*busy2.ani n*busy3.ani n*busy4.ani n*busy5.ani n*busy7.ani n*busy8.ani n*busy9.ani pad_file.xml readme.txt - short description (BBS) file - registry file to install the cursor scheme - "UpArrow" or alternate cursor - "application starting" vertical rotating hourglass - "application starting" stopwatch - "application starting" blinking eyes - "application starting" spinning CDROM - "application starting" wagging tail - "application starting" shy tail - "application starting" bouncing ball - "application starting" footsteps - "application starting" waving flag - "arrow" cursor - large size for laptops - "arrow" cursor - "Ibeam" or text select - "wait" walking shoe - "crosshair" or precision select - "SizeNWSE" or diagonal move cursor - "SizeSWNE" or diagonal move cursor - "help" cursor - "SizeWE" or horizontal move cursor - "link" pointing right hand - "link" pointing right hand with moving thumb - "SizeAll" or move cursor - "no" cursor with rotating sign - "no" cursor with word "no" - "NWPen" or handwriting cursor (pen) - "NWPen" rotating pencil - "SizeNS" or vertical move cursor - blinking "arrow" cursor - "wait" vertical rotating hourglass - "wait" stopwatch - "wait" roving eyes - "wait" sleeping - "wait" pulsing heart - "wait" clock second hand - "wait" 60 second timer - "wait" orbiting balls - ASP format file description - this readme file
