    With the 4th of July just around the corner, we thought the perfect activity for this week would be to enjoy the Independence Day celebrations! Sprinkle some lessons about God s Mercy as opportunities arise! Look for the teachable moments to mention how merciful God has been throughout the history of our country. The song, God Bless America, includes a phrase that says: God shed His Grace on thee. If you hear it sung at the Fireworks or on TV, ask the kids later, How has God shed His Grace and Mercy on America? We live in a country that, even with our many faults, allows us to be free from the oppression and fear that is part of daily life for many around the world. None of us deserve the freedom we experience but, by God s Grace and Mercy, we have been given the gift of America. It is a gift to be cherished. How can we use this gift to help others?
