Carrier Corp. Leads the Industry with New LEED Preparation Course Schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 7, 2010 Carrier Corp., a world leader in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) and a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), announces the fall course schedule for Professional Accreditation Training for Sustainable Design Preparation. Carriers 12-week program covers the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building certification process and prepares participants to pass the LEED Green Associate exam on the first try, with a 95 percent first-pass success rate.

The course will be initiated with a two-day workshop, and for the remaining weeks, class members can participate in the Professional Accreditation Training from anywhere in the world through Carriers web-based learning management system.

Carriers Professional Accreditation Training is scheduled for the following cities: Syracuse, N.Y. Orlando, Fla. Sept. 20-21 Sept. 23, 24

LEED is more prevalent than ever, with 14 national government agencies, 34 state governments, and 202 local governments mandating it, stated training manager Thomas Kelly,

Becoming a LEED Green Associate is critical to having a strong base of knowledge and literacy in green building, sustainable design, and LEED principles and processes. This course prepares participants on the core concepts and strategies of LEED and helps them understand how an HVAC system can be a critical element of a project earning credits for LEED certification, added Kelly.
