Bravery Awardees (Bal Puraskar) Bravery Awards are awarded by Indian Council of Child Welfare since 1957 to children

of age between 618 years for their spontaneous acts bravery. Nominations are invited each year through State/UT ICCW councils, Various Departments of State Govt. Application should be recommended by any two of the following: Headmaster of child s School, Secretary of State ICCW and DM/SP. The Selection is made by a high powered committee constituted by ICCW comprising Secretaries of President, Vice-President, Secretaries of Some Ministries, AIR, DD, NGOs etc. The Awardees receive a medal, a certificate and cash award. Also they are granted assistance until they complete their schooling. ICCW provides financial assistance under its Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme to those undertaking professional courses such as engineering and medical.

Awards for Performing Arts: Aishwarya Natarajan wins British Council s Young Creative Entrepreneur Music Award 2011 She becomes the first woman and first Indian classical music entrepreneur to win the award Each year the British Council recognizes and promotes creative talent in the music industry through The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) Music Awards. Aishwarya Natarajan, owner of Indianuance, an artist management and concert-programming outfit that is dedicated to Indian classical music won the award. She becomes the first woman and first Indian classical music entrepreneur to win the music award.
