Soaring

This is my choice, my one chance at freedom. I stood at the edge of the cliff, gazing out at the ocean sunset. I spread my arms and legs out wide. I unfurled my wings, spreading them out behind me. I admire my wings, such a deep blue they appear ebony with pecks of white. I shook my wings, i shivered with anticipation. I dropped in to a low crouch, and sprang, soaring into the air. I flew up, further than ever before, colours of red, gold and orange ,shine brightly. I tucked in my wings, and spiraled towards the earth. I narrowly pulled up and swooped low enough to skim the water. I reached out and let the water trail through my fingers.
