VECTOR:
In epidemiology, a vector is any agent that carries and transmits an infectious agent. Vectors are vehicles by which infections are transmitted from one host to another. A disease that is transmitted to humans or other animals by an insect or other arthropod is called a vector-borne disease.

Plague is caused by the organism Yersinia pestis. Rodents, such as rats, spread the disease to humans. People can get the plague when they are bitten by a flea that carries the plague bacteria from an infected rodent.
There three most common forms of plague are: a) Bubonic plague -- an infection of the lymph nodes b) Pneumonic plague -- an infection of the lungs c) Septicemic plague -- an infection of the blood
