Information Regarding the Entrance Test

The test is of objective type. Total number of questions will be around 100, and the total time will be 2 hours. The paper will consist of the following parts. Section 1: Comprehension Section 2: Quantitative Section 3: Logical/Analytical (Part I) Section 4: Logical/Analytical (Part II) Comprehension: The Comprehension section is primarily to check the ability of the candidates to understand facts and arguments. Most of the questions will be of the following nature: A passage will be given and then based on that passage there will be few questions. The passages can be on any topic but will be self contained and self explanatory. Quantitative: The Quantitative Section tests a candidate on his/her numerical facility. The candidate should have good mathematical knowledge for this section. Logical/Analytical: The Logical/Analytical Section involves reasoning that helps in analyzing and synthesizing information, applying broad analysis to arrive at conclusions, understanding complex relationships, using systems perspectives while handling a problem or a situation. The candidate should have good problem solving and analytical skills for this section. Most questions will be of one mark each, except some questions in the Logical Analysis section which will be two mark each. Each objective question will have responses you have to choose the best response and mark your response on the OMR Answer Sheet and not on the Question Booklet. All questions will be compulsory and there will be no negative marking. For preparation, students may refer to any preparatory book on Comprehension (like Barrons Critical Reading workbook for SAT, or Tata McGraw Hills How to prepare for the verbal and reading comprehension for CAT). For Quantitative and Analytical portions books like Quantitative Aptitude by Abhijit Guha, or by RS Agarwal, or RP Chopra, or by Jagdeep may be referred. There are many more similar books; the suggested books have no implication on the nature of the questions of the entrance test.
