Introduction 4G stands for the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards.

Currently there are two types of 4G data networks developed in the USA - WiMax, which is developed by Sprint and its partners, and LTE - an extension of the GSM network used by Verizone, T-Mobile and AT&T. The purpose of the 4th-generation network is to dramatically increase data transmission speed. Unlike previous networks, it concentrates on data transmission (mobile broadband), rather than voice. That in itself is remarkable, because it means the shift from voice-focused mobile networks towards data-focused mobile networks. It also is a potential threat for cable Internet providers, because 4G speed can potentially be just as fast as optical fibre. History The first generation: most of the system in this generation is an analog system with a low velocity (low-speed) and sound as the main object. Example: NMT (Nordic Mobile Telephone) and AMPS (Analog Mobile Phone System). The second generation: used as a commercial standard digital format, low speed-high. Example: GSM and CDMA2000 third 1xRTT. Generation: digital, capable of transferring data at high speed (high-speed) and multimedia applications, for broadband (broadband). Example: WCDMA (also known as UMTS) and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. Between second generation and third generation, often inserted the 2.5 generation of digital, high speed (up to 150 Kbps). The technology in this category is 2.5 G of data-based services such as GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and EDGE (Enhance Data rate for GSM Evolution) in the GSM domain and PDN (Packet Data Network) in the CDMA domain. 4G is the development of 3G technology. The official name of this 4G technology by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is "3G and beyond". Before History Fourth-Generation 4G Technology, High-Speed Down link Packet Access (HSDPA) is sometimes referred to as 3.5 G technology has been developed by the WCDMA the same as EV-DO CDMA2000 develop. HSDPA is a mobile telephony protocol provides network evolutionary paths for Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) which will provide more data capacity of large (up to 14.4 Mbit / sec at the falls). Conclusion Based on the developing trends of mobile communication, 4G will have broader bandwidth, higher data rate, and smoother and quicker handoff and will focus on ensuring seamless service across a multitude of wireless systems and networks.
