ADDING A NEW VOCUS USER

This help documentation reviews how to add a New User account to your Vocus PR system. This task will require Administrative access to the system. From the Admin Tab of the application, locate the Users section on the menu, located on the left side of the window. When you select Users you will see Manage User Accounts in the viewing area of the window.

To Add a new user, click on the Add link located at the top of the window.

A window will appear with fields to enter the user information requested.

Note: Not all fields are required to add a user. The information required to add a new user is: A. Login ID: Be sure to stay with the login convention currently being used in your system. B. Display Name C. First Name D. Last Name E. Country F. Time Zone (*Please ensure that the correct time zone is populated as this will effect any scheduled email distributions) G. Email Address (*Please confirm the email address as this is how you will receive our email distribution preview.) H. Password I. Confirm Password J. Permission Group ( sets users access to the System as shown below) K. Data Group (Select Data Groups Users need access to as shown below)

Once you have entered the relevant information, click SUBMIT to add the user to the application. Users will have access immediately to the system. To Delete a user, simply check the box next to the users name from the Manage User Accounts view. Then click on Delete located at the top of the window. This will permanently delete the user from your application. TIPS: BEFORE DELETING USERS: Be sure to transfer the ownership of any records to a current user to prevent the loss of any information. For example, if the user to be deleted has any lists associated to them, change the ownership of those lists prior to deleting the user. Consider using the optional Expiration Date field to assign a date in the past. This will prevent users from accessing the system while maintaining their record of activities.
