- Presentation Seminar

REPORT On 21th of July 2011, the College of Computer Studies in cooperation of Computer Explorer Society (CES) conducted a seminar entitled Joomla- Presentation Seminar. It was held at DCLC- Audio and Multimedia Center. The seminar was divided into two batches. The Registration for the first batch started at 7:30 oclock in the morning. The seminar started around 8:30 oclock in the morning and ended at exactly 12:00 oclock at noon. It was attended by 38 registered students/participant Around 12:30pm, another set of registration was started. About 35 registered students/participants attended the second batch. The seminar started at exactly 1:00pm and ended at 4:30 oclock in the afternoon. The participants of the seminar are those graduating student in the field of Computer Studies. The seminar was opened by the CES adviser, Mr. John Benedict Agoncillo, who gave an excellent introduction to the seminar and also the speaker, named Hamlet Villaruz, who are now working as a Senior Tech-Support and Web Developer at Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) and also one of our enrolled student here at ICCT Colleges, Cainta Campus. The first part of the seminar was the presentation and discussion of the topics regarding Joomla. During the discussion, The CES officers and members distributed the free modules and CD-installers to the registered participants who attended the said seminar. In his presentation, the speaker gave an overview of his different experiences in web development. It gave the participants the good impression and understanding about the main purpose and aim of the said seminar. The second part of the seminar was the hands-on activity wherein they used their laptops and netbooks as a medium used to practiced what they have learned during the discussion. During the last part of the discussion, the participants asked question about the topics for clarification. The feedback of the participants confirmed that the seminar was very much appreciated as well as that it gave them an idea on how they can developed a web site using an open source application like Joomla.
