Montgomery- Higher Ed Lauren Weathers February 14, 2011 One-of-one A group of Auburn students comprised of Lobby Board and

various student government executives traveled to Montgomery yesterday to check in with Alabama's newly elected legislature.

The group spoke with Governor Robert Bentley, who encouraged the students to support the ground- breaking 10 billion dollar package in the new budget which would contribute to Auburn's research program. Bentley charged the group with spreading the word on campus, so that this opportunity is not stricken from the budget.

The money would help fund breast cancer research and the development of new technology to Auburn's credit.

It is now up to the students to write in to the legislators and say, "Yes, we would like that funding to stay on the agenda for this year."
