LAST MEETING PAST DISTRICT GOVERNORS NIGHT 05-24-2011

Linden Lions were called to order by President Jeffrey Beebe. Pledge of Allegiance was led by PDG Chuck Leach. Songbirds Lion Aldo Navone, Secretary Sam Fonzi, President Jeffrey Beebe, International Director Robert Smith and Dr. Bill Iannaccone, PID led us in the singing of God Bless America. Invocation was given by Lion Joe Larranaga, Jr. DINNER: Tonights dinner was pork chops marinated in maple brine, red cabbage with apples and bacon, sweet potato hash (a blend of roast sweet potatoes, diced apples, diced onions, shelled pumpkin seeds and bacon), salad with green beans and cucumbers w/ apple cider vinegar. PPs Tom Solari and Glenn Matthews Jr. made the bread pudding. Fresh cherries were available on each table for sampling Lindens produce. We have many thanks for this culinary delight made by

our own. Thanks to Head Chef (new title) Lion Mike Padilla and his kitchen help, Tom & Glenn for the delicious dessert, COD Chairman Lion Bret Collins and crew for their professional service and Barbara Cucco & crew for the lovely flowers. PROGRAM: Tonights program honors all of our Past District Governors for their service to Lionism. The Linden Lions Club has been sponsoring this event for 51 years. Dignitaries were introduced. We were introduced to International Director Robert Smith and PID Dr. Bill Iannaccone. P.I.P. Kay Fukushima sent his regrets and was not able to attend. PP Sam Fonzi recited the history of PDG night. Sam introduced each of the PDGs and gave them an opportunity to say a few words. There was a repetitive theme about yellow jackets and it must be time to buy the newer jacket. Only a few yellow jackets left. Also the comments about the good food.. Guess what! We get it all the time. We undoubtedly have some of the best cooks in our club and enjoy sharing their culinary skills. And there isnt

Steve voluntarily offered $5.00 and it was accepted on the basis that we publish it in the bulletin. Can we fine him again?? Considering Steves job he must have a budget set aside for fines to the Lions Club.
