GAME NIGHT WITH A TWIST!

Family Night Activities July 29, 2011 Calendar:

GOD IS MERCIFUL!

This activity is a fun game that will teach your children how to grant mercy as well as receive it.

Preparation: Gather the following items:

1. Choose a game your family enjoys playing (this can be an indoor board game or an outdoor game.) 2. Mercy Cards. These can be as simple as a 3 x 5 card with the word Mercy written on it or you can print the Mercy Cards from the website (see link below).

Let s get started!

Play the game as explained at http://dg4kids.com/. Click on Family Adventures, God is Merciful, and then click on the A button of Abide or follow this link: http://dg4kids.com/activity/activity-god-is-merciful/.

Discuss:
Ask your children the following questions: 1. How did it feel to receive a Mercy Card? 2. How did it feel to give a Mercy Card? 3. Why would someone want to give a Mercy Card? 4. Why would someone not want to give a Mercy Card?

Bringing it to a close:
When Jesus paid for our sins on the cross He showed us what real mercy looks like. Many thought he had "lost the game" because his enemies killed Him. However, He knew that when He gave up His life for us He really won the "game." He made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. Encourage your children to look for an opportunity to use their Mercy Card this week. Pray and ask God to help them show mercy throughout the week. But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him. - Daniel 9:9, Discover God Bible, (NLT)
