Applications for Deans scholarships will be considered in relation to the following drivers, to be addressed specifically in the section Comments in support of the application : o Excellence of PhD candidate o Alignment with University Priority Groups 1 or strategic areas In the Engineering Faculty, the maximum available award will support the full fee level and a study allowance of RM 1700 per month (subject to revision). Upon award, the supervisor-student team should come up with a detailed research p lan: including a budget for the research Applicants should consider whether any external funding is available to support this studentship, entering details in the External funding section on the application form. Such applications will be looked on particularly favourably during assessment. Once an award is made, additional funding will not be available from the Faculty , so it is important to ensure any additional funding required is available (eg. for equipment, consumables, travel for student and supervisor).
