What is the stand of the Church on the RH bill?

The Reproductive Health Bill is one of the most discussed and argued issue in our present society. However, politicians are not the only ones who have a say to this issue. This, as we know, has evidently been of great impact to the Church. The Church therefore takes an opposing stand with regards to the matter,

What are the issues the Church is fighting for regarding the RH bill?

This bill, being seen as an almost anti-life campaign, brings the Church to the position they take today. First of all, the Church is not actually moving to ban all types of contraceptives (non-abortifacient ones). However, what the Church really opposes, is the idea of promoting and providing contraception to people. Also, there isn t even enough guarantee that the use of these contraceptives are actually medically safe. Therefore, the provision of these contraceptives may not only promote family planning but also with free HIV and AIDS. All human beings, Catholic or not, are obliged to act according to right reason. By the efforts of the Church to go against the RH Bill, the Church is not imposing her religious beliefs on others. She is trying to stop a bill which is against natural law, a law which all human beings, Catholic or not, should follow. Furthermore, in the point view of the Church, the issue of overpopulation which is the primary reason why this bill was made, is nothing else but a lie, for as many do believe, poverty in millions of Filipinos is not caused by overpopulation, but rather we believe it is caused by corruption.
