    MATERIALS

    5 colored candies

    15 paper narrow strips


    1 plastic dish

    1 dropper

    Water

    PROCEDURE
    Put you the colored candies with the same
    color in the dish and add you some water
    drops over each one.

    The color will separate from the candies.


    Take off the candies.

    Put you one extreme of the narrow strips


    in the colored water to wet the paper and
    the other extreme out it.

    Look at the results. The colored water


    rises in the paper.

    RESULTS

    We can get from one color some different


    colors in each paper strip

    CONCLUSIONS

    Many dietary colorants are really a mix of


    some colorants. We can separate them
    with water and paper using a technique
    called CHROMATOGRAPHY.
