CURRICULUM VITAE

Research Interests
My overall research interest is in atmospheric boundary-layer processes in complex and heterogeneous terrain. This includes work on regional air-quality and climate change. I use any of the available research techniques. Currently, I am focusing on Bayesian inference, numerical modeling, and some short field work. Previously, I have also used water-tank models and scaling.

Employment History
Research Associate UBC: Scale down station observations, tree-ring data, and GCM output as input to glacier mass balance (projects: Western Canadian Cryospheric Network; Polar Climate Stability Network). Provide a policy relevant understanding of ambient ozone and emissions of ozone precursors in the Lower Fraser Valley through numerical modeling of emissions, chemical processes, and meteorology. Bayesian time series analysis of trend of ozone background concentrations at the North American West Coast and of the impact of the transit strike in the LFV in summer 2001 (BC Clear project Modeling Photochemical Pollution in the Lower Fraser Valley). UBC: Used Bayesian inference to develop statistical downscaling for glacier mass balance. Investigated kinematics and dynamics of slope flows using tank and field data. Since 04/2009
